Attercliffe and Darnall Centre of Mission
The Attercliffe and Darnall Centre of Mission is a partnership with the Diocese of Sheffield set up in March 2020 . The two bible verses central to the centre of mission are Isaiah 43:14-19 and Isaiah 61:1-7. Amongst the centre of missions key objectives over the next four years are:
Growing new expressions of Christian communities
Inspiring mission and evangelism with the local deaneries by helping Christians grow in confidence in sharing their faith using Church Army's DARE strategy and resources
Promoting the work of Church Army
The centre of mission is led by Evangelist is Kinder Kalsi, with Gina Kalsi as Pioneer Evangelist. They are aiming to engage with young people and families by being Christian community in the area and growing church though a monastic rhythm of eating together, praying together and engaging in local activities.
Kinder and Gina are currently involved in the local Foodbank - delivering food from them to the local area three times a week. They have also established regular online meditations using Facebook and Instagram Live and weekly evening prayer. They also run Let's Talk, which provides a space for people to talk about faith and everyday life. Kinder has also joined a local group of people working hard to clear overgrowth in the local cemetery, which has led to some great conversations with others in the group and Kinder and Gina volunteer at the community allotment. Another way in which they have engaged with the local community is by being involved in the new local newsletter Community Connector, helping people to stay up to date with what's happening in the area. You can find out more about what the centre of mission has been doing recently by reading their latest newsletter.
